Commissioned by City of Los Angeles to Write Original Poem for Paris LA Olympiad Project
2024-2028
I was selected by the City of Los Angeles to write a poem for the LA/Paris 2024 Sport + Poetry Project. Myself and other LA poets read our original poems @ downtown LA Library, inside Mark Taper Auditorium. This event celebrated the passing of the Olympics from Paris to Los Angeles 2028. This event was amazing as LA watched via Zoom, the Paris poets performed, then LA poets performed.
Nous avons été fantastiques! Jeux Olympiques de 2028 à Los Angeles!

My testimonial:
La Llorona Loca Through My Chicana Lesbian Lens, Published in Special Issue of
The Journal of Lesbian Studies Spring 2023
The Journal of Lesbian Studies featured a special issue about the iconic anthology: Chicana Lesbians - The Girls Our Mothers Warned Us About, by Carla Trujillo, Third Woman Press 1991. I'm one of the original contributors to this groundbreaking anthology that published my unique comedic Chicana lesbian version of La Llorona, the Mexican ghost woman. For this special issue of The Journal of Lesbian Studies, I wrote about the origin story of my Llorona tale. This distinctive issue of the Journal was edited by Stacy I. Macias, PhD, & Liliana C. Gonzalez, PhD.
