Students then create and develop their own 10 minute performance piece dealing with queer issues taken from life experiences. This final performance is presented to the class during finals week.

"Playwriting,"
a 12 week artist residency sponsored by Angeles Gate Cultural Center. I created a 12 week innovative playwriting
curriculum for two 4th grade classes at New Academy of Science and Art, Los Angeles, expanding students awareness of the dramatic arts
and building self esteem. Students learned fundamentals of playwriting and storytelling while engaging in collaborative creativity working
towards writing two plays in each class. Students kept a sketch journal for creating characters, play ideas and drawing scenes from the
plays. Sessions were also spent creating simple costumes. At the final session students performed their main plays for the student body,
faculty and invited parents.

Winter 2015
“Playmaking,”
a program sponsored by The Virginia Avenue Project. Team teaching playwriting to John Adams Middle School. Program culminated w/ students plays produced at school.

Created a weekend storybook workshop for children K-8. Workshop was part of a larger community event that was free to the public.

Created an 8 week Theater Workshop for middle school students at Los Angeles Leadership Academy. As a collaborative team, I wrote a play with the students. As writer/director, rehearsed with students to create full production and presented to student body, faculty and parents.
